Cate Farm grows echinacea purpurea, commonly known as purple coneflower. Its beautiful downward drooping rose to purple petals surround a large spiny center, making it a popular garden perennial since the 1700's.

Echinacea purpurea is used for support and stimulation of the immune system. We cultivate echinacea pururea for 3 years before harvesting the roots. Harvest occurs in early spring and late fall. After digging, we quarter the roots and then double wash them to remove all the soil from the interior section of the root. Roots are then sold fresh, or dried in our herb dryer.

Cate Farm prides itself on its top quality echinacea root. In a recent test of five different suppliers of echinacea purpurea, Tom's of Maine found Cate Farm echinacea tested the highest for active compounds.

CATE FARM ORDERING INFORMATION:
First off, we are much more an organic farm than a mail order company. That said, we try to keep it simple. We do not accept credit cards, so it is a 2 step process to order. The best method of contact for us is by email, since we are usually busy around the farm.

  1. We need to know how many pounds of each product you want ($30 minimum for total order) and your zip code, so we can get back to you with shipping charges and a grand total.

  2. You can then place your order by sending payment (check or money order) to:
Cate Farm
135 Cate Farm Road
Plainfield, VT 05667
We will ship your order as soon as we receive your payment.

Note to people ordering our organic burdock: We are always interested in learning of the different ways our customers use fresh or dried burdock root. We welcome any feedback. Thanks!

$30 minimum order. Shipping and handling extra.

You can email your order request to us at catefarm@gmail.com.
