Cate Farm owner/operator Richard Wiswall has been growing organic vegetables, herbs and flowers since 1981. Over the years, valuable lessons have been learned: from trial and error, other farmers, conferences, workshops, and often from the infamous school of hard knocks. Richard has developed systems that are sustainable both ecologically and economically.
Richard has presented talks all over New England: at conferences for the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) , the Extension Service, New England Vegetable Growers, Regional Farm and Food project, the Watershed Ag Council, and others. Topics addressed include Holistic Goal Setting, Profitability and Record keeping, Marketing, Retirement, and Paradigms. Half day or full day workshops are available and tailored to target audiences.
Consulting services are also available on a one-to-one basis. Richard will help organic vegetable farms develop a marketing plan, a production plan, greenhouse schedule, crop enterprise budgets, and a profitability index. Any specific crop production practice can be addressed.
For rates and availability for workshops and consulting services, contact Richard at catefarm@gmail.com. |
